The Marple Historical Society was founded in 1960 and is dedicated to the preservation of the heritage of Marple Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

WHAT’S NEW WITH THE MARPLE HISTORICAL SOCIETY?

May 2025

  • In April 2025 we partnered with our friends at the Radnor Historical Society to present our spring History Talk: Redware’s Twilight: A Family of Quaker Potters in Marple and Radnor. Thank you to all who helped us hold a successful program!

  • Historical society volunteers are in the process of completing the historic architectural documentation of the Long Family House. We hope to nominate it for inclusion in Marple Township’s historic register.

  • Long-time Thomas Massey House volunteer and living-history educator Dr. Clarissa Dillon was recently honored by the Delaware County Heritage Commission with the 2025 A. Richard Paul Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her more than half century of work to interpret 18th century domestic life in Pennsylvania.

  • We’re collecting oral histories from long-time township residents. If you’re interested in giving an oral history or know someone we should reach out to, email us at marplehistoricalsociety@gmail.com!
